USA in 1996, The Leather Group, Inc. has grown into an international leather sales, sourcing, and brokerage agency with offices throughout the world and within North America. It's founder, Mr. Matthew Feuer has deep roots within the leather industry, as his family has been in the tanning industry since the early 1900's. Mr. Feuer recognized a basic lack of quality and customer service within the industry and started TLG in order to fill that void. Side leathers and splits for use in North, Latin, and South America. April 1997: Signed contract with YOUNG CHANG SILUP (Korea) to act as their exclusive sales office in North America. Side leathers for use within Asia. December 1998: Signed contract with WEI TAI LEATHER (CHINA / TAIWAN) to act as their exclusive sales office in North America. Suede and splits for use within Asia. January 2001: Signed contract with YOUNGIL (Korea) to act as their exclusive sales office in North America. PU Splits made in Korea for use within Asia. April 2001: Opened The Leather Group India to act as sourcing office for key items from India for use globally. July 2001: Started working with WORLD TRADING CORP of Conn. to promote leathers from Italy, Holland and other European countries. August 2001: Opened The Leather Group Brazil to act as sourcing office for all leathers to be supplied from South America. Use is global. SALES TIMELINE: June 1996: Hired Lindgren Corp in Penn. to act as sales agency for the mid-atlantic states. July 1998: Hired SEBCO in St. Louis to act as sales agency for Miss. Arkansas, and other key accounts. Aug. 2000: Hired RF HOOD in Toronto, Canada to act as sales agency for all of Canada. March 2001: Hired Mike Williams in Nashville, Tenn. to handle all southeaster states. June 2001: Hired Moses Sales to handle the Southwest sales efforts.
